Under a new brand and armed with an expanded operation, Exquisite Rugs was back at High Point Market.

Formerly known as Orient Express Rugs, Exquisite Rugs returned to market this week with a more focused product presentation designed for a more specialty customer in mind.

The third-generation family-owned and operated company has been away form High Point for the past eight years after 26 years as an exhibitor.

2118-1024x683“We did a rebranding about three years ago and changed our name,” said President Hersel Bani-Esraili. “We knew we didn’t want to try to be everything to everybody. We found a customer base we wanted to target at the medium to high end of the market, and we’ve curated the line for that customer.”

Today, the line is 100% handmade of natural fiber, including animal hides, and the majority is made in India with a select assortment from Nepal. Looks span traditional to contemporary.

Exquisite Rugs also recently opened a new 6,500-square-foot warehouse facility in Los Angeles at headquarters to accommodate new growth.

The company works with brick-and-mortar stores as well as e-commerce – the latter for which it has developed a special line of rug styles.

Exquisite Rugs also offers custom programs, with eight-week delivery.
