Escape with The Inchworm

A wrap-around cocoon that envelopes the body, The Inchworm is surely the ultimate in indulgent lounging. Designed by Alexandra Knyazevoy, a student of Furniture Design at Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry, The Inchworm is piece of furniture taking the phrase ‘snug as a bug’ to the next level.

Knyazevoy designed the lounger as part of her graduation project,  constructing the piece from metal to create a ‘spine-and-ribs’ shaped frame that holds a thick cushion designed to be wrapped around the body, literally encases the body in a cocoon of relaxation. Originally designed as a sun lounger with suitability for both indoor and outdoor use, we predict that early adopters will loathe to save this nest just for the garden, repurposing the The Inchworm as a living room lounger that tempts even the most restless into a temporary state of hibernation.
