For the upcoming winter market season, Surya is casting a wide brushstroke of Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year.

The home furnishings house will be showcasing a variety of rugs and accessories in Ultra Violet, which the color authority described as a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade” that “communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking.”

Ultra Violet symbolizes the current era’s innovation and future aspirations, alluding to the desire to achieve a higher level of consciousness and impact, Pantone explained. Historically, purples have been associated with figures known for their creativity, uniqueness, influence and excellence, all of which echo the ambitions of various individuals and companies, across all industries.

“Synonymous with luxury, creativity and imagination, Ultra Violet is the perfect choice for the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year,” noted Lynne Meredith, Surya’s vice president of product development. “We are seeing all shades of purple and mauve emerge as a key color for textiles and decorative accents. It is a great inspirational shade for residential and commercial spaces looking to establish and maintain a sense of grandeur and originality.”

In the New Year — first at the Atlanta International Gift, Home Furnishings and Area Rug markets Jan. 9-16, and then again at the Dallas Total Home & Gift market Jan. 17-23 — Surya will present a new and curated assortment of Ultra Violet-colored accessories, including rugs, pillows, poufs, art and more.

Surya’s showrooms are located at: Atlanta AmericasMart in space 11-A-1; and Dallas World Trade Center in space 560.
