Youth furniture manufacturer Whitney Brothers has introduced one of the latest innovations relating to youth study and one that mirrors one of the hottest trends in commercial and residential office furniture.

The company has launched what it calls the first convertible standing desk for preschool and kindergarten environments. The WB1727 Convertible Standing Desk also is suitable for youth bedrooms, where study furniture is becoming an increasingly common component of the youth furniture category.

The desk, which retails at $349, converts from a sitting to a standing height – with a desk surface that goes from 22 to 29 inches in 1-1/4 inch increments – without any tools, the company said.

“The desk’s flexibility helps Early Learners avoid being sedentary, use good posture and stage engaged in whatever the classroom activity entails,” the company said.

“Because of the ergonomic and health benefits they deliver, standing desks are now ubiquitous in office environments, higher education, and right on down to elementary schools,” said Mike Jablonski, president of Whitney Brothers. “We believe those same benefits apply to little learners, too.”
