Melbourne to Host Free Government Seminar For Small Businesses

AusTrade Seminar

Calling all designers, makers and creatives. If you operate a small to medium business in Melbourne, this is a date not to be missed.

The Australian Trade Commission, in partnership with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is running a series of free-to-attend North Asia Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) seminars across all Australian states and territories, and on Wednesday 2nd November they’re bringing their latest seminar to Melbourne.

Australia’s free trade agreements with Korea, Japan and China have created numerous opportunities for Australian businesses, reducing barriers to trade and investment, but many Australian business owners are unaware of how to utilise these agreements to boost and expand their business. Nick Nichles, Austrade’s General Manager of Marketing Communications and Free Trade Agreement Program, is part of team empowering small to medium enterprises to take advantage of the agreements with a series of North Asia FTAs information seminars being held across Australia.

“FTAs are providing strong opportunities for Australian exporters across North Asia and the Australian Government wants more Australian businesses to get involved”, explains Nichels, “these agreements are opening the door to more than a billion potential new customers and these seminars are aimed to help Australian businesses maximise the opportunities that now exist”.

If one billion potential new customers is a possibility that makes your heart beat a little faster, then you are invited to learn more about how they can take advantage of these opportunities at a free information seminar at The Como, 630 Chapel Street, South Yarra on Wednesday 2 November, 2016, from 9-11am. “I strongly encourage businesses in Melbourne to attend the information seminar and learn more about how the free trade agreements could work for their business”, adds Nichles, extending his invitation to small to medium sized businesses across the city.

Currently Australia has 10 FTAs in force, with both individual countries and groups of countries. These seminars focus on the agreements with Korea, Japan and China, which many small business owners remain unaware of. These seminars provide attendees with practical information about how they can access the benefits of Australia’s FTAs with South Korea, Japan and China, giving attendees the opportunity to hear directly from the Australian government, as well as local businesses already having success in the North Asian market and special guest speakers.

Not based in Melbourne? Don’t worry, since March 2015, Austrade and DFAT have delivered almost 60 seminars around Australia and with many more planned for 2017, business owners across Australia will have the chance to attend a seminar in their nearest city.

Attendees can register at www.austrade.gov.au/ftaseminars or find out more information by calling Austrade on 13 28 78 or emailing [email protected].
