a

Every man dreams of having a place in which he can spend some time alone and escape from the burdens of reality. However, most people get sidetracked by their daily obligations and the vast majority of them never get to experience the wonders of a proper man cave. Some of the main reasons why people give up is because it requires a lot of effort, dedication, and even some previous experience with things like carpentry, wall painting, and etcetera. However, these projects aren’t as demanding as they seem to be. All you have to do is follow some guidelines, get creative with your ideas, and soon enough you’ll have a place in which you can relax, have a drink, or play some video games with your buddies.

Start with the floor
Even though the floor doesn’t seem like a crucial part of the equation, you can rest assured that it plays a significant role when it comes to comfort and thermal conductivity. Most people have a concrete floor in their garage which is definitely not an optimal solution if you’re planning on spending time in that particular space.

Laying a subfloor is probably your best bet, especially if you’re on a limited budget. The whole endeavor doesn’t require too much expertize, and on top of that, it’s not as complex as it seems. One of the most important things you should do during this step is to make sure you lay the floor correctly and by the rules.

bUpgrade the walls
One of the most useful things you can do in order to upgrade your walls properly is to frame and insulate them.  Insulation is essential both for soundproofing and temperature consistency within the room. While many people don’t care about soundproofing their space, it’s actually a critical step, especially if you’re planning to incorporate a loud stereo, music instruments, or anything that’s noisy enough to make your neighbors and residents of your household annoyed. The whole idea behind a man cave is to have a well-isolated space in which you don’t have to think about potential consequences caused by various things such as loud music.

Paint the walls
This particular step allows you to get as creative as possible. You have the liberty to paint the walls the way you want, instead of listening and relying on the other people’s opinions. Before you get wild with it, make sure to mix the tones well in order to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This means you should avoid particularly bright tones as they tend to have a tiresome effect on most people. In case you’re struggling with ideas, consider reviewing some popular interior trends.

However, it would be a great idea if you were to incorporate wall decals in your man cave. It doesn’t take much effort to personalize your space with removable wall decals, regardless of your experience with these things.c

Time to add the accessories
As we all know, the things that separate a man cave from any other place in your home are the little gadgets and accessories that are designed to help you relax and enjoy your time spent in there.  The aforementioned stereo system is a must-have. Furthermore, feel free to add any of the elements you find relaxing and fun. That includes dart boards, pinball machines, funny pictures, and all the other things that make the time pass by quickly. Consider hanging some awesome DIY man cave signs as they have a massive impact on the whole concept of being rebellious.d

Think about including a small bathroom
Even though this step requires you to deal with plumbing, it’s well worth the effort. Considering the fact that you’ll probably drink a few beers while spending time in your new man cave, it’s more than reasonable to incorporate a small bathroom. Don’t get discouraged by the lack of space as there are plenty of life hacks that make your small bathroom appear bigger.

Furniture is important
The key to hitting the sweet spot with the right amount of furniture is to avoid redundant pieces. In simpler terms, make sure there is enough furniture in the room to make it comfortable but don’t include too much of it because it can turn the space into a cramped mess.

And now you’re set with all the tools to create the ultimate man-cave! Enjoy!
